Derrick’s Jamaican opens a second restaurant



Derrick’s Jamaican@USC makes it debut with a new restaurant in University Village near USC. The restaurant got help from the Downtown Los Angeles Retail Project. Christie Bertch of Annenberg Radio News has an audio report:

Demographics are in flux in California



California used to be a state where almost everyone was from somewhere else in the country or the world. But the state has been experiencing a slowdown in immigration and interstate migration that predates the recession, but has been accelerated in the last two years. USC Professor of Urban Planning and Demography Dowell Myers says California has been transformed from a state of migrants to one with a majority homegrown population.
