  1. Trying to manage and grow a restaurant using old, antiquated processes like hand written order slips is a huge waste of time and energy. Even if you don’t have the same customer base as large chain restaurant establishments, there are some things that you simply can not skimp on, and your point of sale system (POS) is one of them.As a smaller restaurant, don’t feel duped into buying the more complex POS systems. Larger restaurants and fine dining establishments may need things like multiple server stations, hostess station systems, bar server stations and several kitchen printers, but as a small restaurant you do not. One server station, centrally located and a kitchen printer is more than enough for most small eateries. Resist buying into all the bells and whistles, a point of sale system is pricey as it is, you do not need to add to the balance due by getting a machine that doesn’t match the size of your business.
